Why We Started Sahaaya

Sahaaya was built on a combination of experience, professional expertise, and a shared belief that access to the right information can change lives.
Inspired by her daughter’s journey of studying, relocating, and building a life abroad, Radha Kumari Voleti envisioned creating the kind of support system she wished had existed, a trusted “Sister/Brother” figure offering practical guidance, honest advice, and real-world experience to students and expats navigating similar journeys.
Radha Kumari Voleti brought the vision, commitment, and foundation to establish Sahaaya as an organization focused on supporting students and expats. Manasa contributes expertise from the life sciences, healthcare, research, and project management sectors, while Raghuveer brings experience from engineering, information technology, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
Together, along with insights gained through our colleagues, friends, alumni networks, and international communities, we have developed a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges people face when studying, relocating, and building careers abroad.
